Alpamarca Administrative Economic Unit

The new Alpamarca - Rio Pallanga Unit started operations during the second quarter of 2014. The Alpamarca - Rio Pallanga Unit is located 4,700 meters above sea level in the Santa Barbara de Carhuacayan district, province of Yauli, Junin Region, 219 kilometers east of Lima. Alpamarca - Rio Pallanga is a polymetallic deposit of lead, zinc, silver and copper veins. It consists of 2,100 hectares of concessions within an area of great geological potential. At a first stage, the Alpamarca deposit is currently mined through an open pit and its deepest areas will be subsequently mined on an underground basis. The Alpamarca concentrate plant has a nominal capacity of 2,000 TPD, and it is likely to be increased to 3,000 TPD in order to treat the ore coming from the Alpamarca open pit and the Rio Pallanga underground mine or from other Company units.

Preparation of the modified plan for the closure of the mining unit Alpamarca .

The material components of the closure plan are approved in the modification of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) studies including: Mine, processing facilities, facilities for waste management facilities for water management, housing and services for workers.

According to directorial resolution Nº232-2014-MEM/DGAAM given on May 14th 2014, the Mining Closure Plan Update was approved by Peruvian Ministry of Energy and Mines.

Concentration and processing plant construction

The project involves the development of a concentrator plant and respectives facilities for the processing of polymetallic ores at a rate of 2,000 tonnes per day in order to produce concentrates of copper, lead, zinc and silver.

The service includes the execution of civil works which comprises construction of foundations, retaining walls, construction of industrial buildings and additional buildings, as well as installation and assembly of electromechanical works corresponding to the area of ​​crushing and grinding.

The crushing and grinding are includes the primary, secondary, tertiary crusher. The floatation zone area includes lime plant and reagents. The thickening-filtering zone, energy facilities and water necessary for the operation and processing plant is considered in the construction.
