Basic Engineering Design (BED)

Basic Engineering Design (BED) is a pre Front End Engineering Design (FEED) stage. BED identifies and determines needs based on the project developer specifications such as area, location, processes, regulations, mechanical, electrical and instrumental perspectives.

A typical BED can cover: Conceptual process studies, preliminary diagrams, definition and sizing of main equipment resulting in process specifications, definition of control and safety devices and generally speaking, all the basic studies containing all data needed by a competent contractor to perform the FEED and Detail Engineering.

Similar to other projects in the mining division, this project included the use of 3D technology in order to integrate the new and existing installations, and assure the appropriate construction according to the engineering design.
